The Puerta de Serranos, well know as the
Torres de Serranos, (Serranos Towers) is an example of the military
architecture of the 14th Century.
It was built as a defensive element and also
as a triunfant arc by Pere Balaguer between 1391 and 1398 on the site
of a muslim bastian, although it also served previously as a prison
until the end of the 19th century.
From the top their is a great panoramic view
of the City of Valencia and of the museum of science which forms part
of the modern architecture.
